Zayn Malik and Jisoo just released their new single duet Eyes Closed. With its announcement, just a few days before the launch, everyone went crazy over this iconic alliance. Even though they just released their single on October 10, it has received such good numbers.
As for today, it is so close to achieving 18 million streams on Spotify. It consists on a pop ballad with R&B influences. It gives the illusion of a “dreamy” melody thanks to its soft piano notes, the acoustic guitar and bass synthesizers. The main theme of the song revolves around the tremors and past scars. Furthermore, they open up about the vulnerability when starting something new and the idea of “falling in love with eyes closed”.
The announcement’s sneak peek was a part of the song’s chorus that included: “Said, oh, we should fall in love with our eyes closed, Better if we keep it where we don’t know, The nights we’ve been in, the names and the faces of who we were with, And, oh, ain’t nobody perfect when it’s all done, The past can’t hurt us if we don’t look, Let’s let it go, Better if we fall in love with our eyes closed”.
Their collab comes as a surprise since no interaction was shared publicly before. However, they both praised each other on social media. Zayn thanked her saying “Jisoo.. you’re an absolute legend, loved every part of this collaboration, thank you for making me the coolest dad around.” The BLACKPINK artist posted showing gratitude for his music partner: “working with you has been truly special”.
On the other hand, this also counts as the first collaboration Jisoo launches after her EP Amortage, released February 2025. Rumors about the collab started when she posted a teaser image of her an another man. Her comment section was boiling and fans began to put 2 and 2 together. One fan wrote, “Omg the Duo I didn’t know I needed!!!!!!” Another comment read, “OHH IT’S REAL GUYS!!! IM SO BLESSED FOR THIS!!!” A fan wrote, “Woahhhh can’t believe it finally all members have a hit collab. (Ik its mother its gonne be hit).” Another user shared, “ZAYN AND JISOO OMG????!!!!”
Zayn just announced his first musical residency in Las Vegas starting in January 2026. This short Vegas tour will take place in Dolby Live at Park MGM from January 20 to 31 next year. Furthermore, the former One direction member also admitted that he will be playing all of his solo albums. This could be the best way for Zayn to start his new music era.
