Venom: The Last Dance, the new installment of the superhero saga starring Tom Hardy and based on Marvel comics, will hit cinemas on October 25.
Venom returns, Tom Hardy returns, and with them comes the third installment of the most unconventional trilogy in the recent era of superhero cinema. Venom: The Last Dance is already being marketed as the conclusion of the symbiote trilogy, with Hardy reprising his role as Eddie Brock. Sony Pictures appears fully committed to making this final chapter an epic conclusion, pulling out all the stops to close the series in grand fashion.
In principle, this third installment will mark the final adventure of Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock alongside his extraterrestrial symbiote. Brock, a journalist, had his life turned upside down when he bonded with Venom. Now, the two are fused and constantly on the run from human pursuers as well as adversaries from Venom’s home planet.
In this new installment, Venom and Eddie (Hardy) are on the run, and the duo is forced to make a drastic decision. “You should know that I have a very dark and very unpredictable side,” says the protagonist in the preview, in which he appears fighting with a gang and transforming.
The Venom film saga began in 2018 with the release of Venom, directed by Ruben Fleischer. In this first installment, Eddie Brock, a journalist, investigates the Life Foundation and its experiments. During his investigation, Eddie’s body merges with an alien symbiote named Venom, granting him superhuman abilities. The film’s main cast included Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, Jenny Slate, and Reid Scott.
In 2021, a sequel titled Venom: Let There Be Carnage was released, this time directed by Andy Serkis. The plot follows Eddie as he learns to coexist with Venom, while a new threat emerges in the form of Cletus Kasady (played by Woody Harrelson), a death row inmate who also bonds with a symbiote, becoming the villain Carnage. The cast also included Michelle Williams, Stephen Graham, Naomie Harris, Peggy Lu, and Reid Scott, among others.

The first Venom film, directed by Ruben Fleischer in 2018, grossed over $856 million worldwide. Its sequel, Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021), directed by Andy Serkis, earned a lower but still substantial $507 million globally.
