On February 28, 2025, Spanish theaters will premiere Flight Risk, a thrilling action film directed by Mel Gibson and starring Mark Wahlberg, Michelle Dockery, and Topher Grace.
Flight Risk follows a seasoned pilot (Wahlberg) who is assigned to transport a U.S. Marshal (Dockery) and a key witness (Grace) across the treacherous landscapes of Alaska. However, as the flight continues, tensions escalate when it becomes evident that some passengers are not who they claim to be, turning the journey into a deadly game of deception and survival.

During production, Wahlberg reportedly kept his distance from his co-stars, fully immersing himself in his role as a mysterious and troubled pilot. His intense method acting led him to later apologize to the cast for his behavior on set.
“I was so locked into the role that I didn’t realize how closed off I had become. Once filming wrapped, I had to apologize to everyone,” Wahlberg admitted in an interview.
Critics have given mixed reactions to “Flight Risk.” While some praise Gibson’s ability to craft an engaging thriller, others have pointed out inconsistencies in the film’s tone and execution. Despite this, the movie has generated significant buzz, largely due to the collaboration between Wahlberg and Gibson, who have previously worked together on past projects.
Filming took place in various locations, including Las Vegas, Mesquite (Nevada), and the remote wilderness of Alaska, adding authenticity to the movie’s high-stakes atmosphere. The production wrapped successfully in August 2023, overcoming logistical challenges posed by the harsh filming environments.
With its gripping premise and strong performances, “Flight Risk” promises to deliver an intense cinematic experience, blending action, suspense, and psychological drama. As Wahlberg takes on one of his most enigmatic roles yet, audiences can expect a tense and unpredictable journey through the skies when the film lands in theaters.
