The Rolling Stones plans to come back to the top of the rock. The iconic rock band teases with the release of new music. This announcement comes after the announcement of the reissue of his top album Black and Blue.
Not so long ago, Keith Richards’ own son Marlon slipped up to admit that a new album is on the works and “nearly done”. After this, the album’s producer Andrew Watt talked about producing new music for such an iconic band: “I’ve said it before, but it’s like working for Batman. When the tongue is up in the air, you just go…I can say we did some recording together, but that’s all I can say.”
The British media The Sun also affirmed the band is producing a new album: “Mick, Keith and Ronnie have been secretly recording their new record with their drummer Steve Jordan”.
Moreover, The Sun revealed juicier information that buzzed fans: “They have laid down 13 songs and are in discussions over a release date for their 25th studio album. The band’s last album, Hackney Diamonds, their first original work in 18 years, went straight to #1 following its release in 2023. Sir Mick and Keith, both 81, and Ronnie, 78, have been holed up in West London’s Metropolis Studios.”
Furthermore, The Sun talked about a postponed European tour that was planned for the rock band: “Originally, the plan was for them to bring their huge US tour to the UK and Europe this summer, but promoters couldn’t get the dates to work. Instead, the Stones decided to get back into the studio and put down their next album. It’s massive for their fans who didn’t get a chance to see them live this year.”
The band’s latest releases
To begin this new Stones era they just announced the reissue of Black and Blue. Its 50th anniversary is coming so they wanted to celebrate it with a “Super Deluxe” release. This reedited LP will come in many formats: box with 5 vinyls, box with 4 CDs, Blu-Ray, the band’s own book, a tour poster…
The Satisfaction and Start Me Up band released their last original album in late 2023. Hackney Diamonds was released October 20, 2023, becoming the band’s 24th studio album. It was back in 2005 the last time they released their latest original music with A Bigger Bang. Hackney Diamonds was an album full of hits featuring top artists such as Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder and Lady Gaga.
The band’s popular guitarist Keith Richards also spoke about the future of The Rolling Stones. He particularly acknowledged that after the death of Charlie Watts it will “come to an end”. Nevertheless, he added that he “can’t quit” and that he is excited for the forthcoming future.
