Huge news for The Beatles’ fans, as the next generation releases a new hit. Sean Ono Lennon and James McCartney joined Ringo Starr’s son Zak Starkey and his band. Together they are working on launching their new production.
Rip-Off will be launched sooner than later by the Beatles’ stars’ sons. Sean Lennon and James McCartney decided to link with Zak Starkey’s band Mantra of the Cosmos for the new track. Mantra of the Cosmos was formed in 2023 by Starkey, Oasis’ bassist Andy Bell, Happy Mondays’ Mark Berry and Shaun Ryder. Rip-Off will be their most recent production.
However, it is not the first time they launch together. Earlier this year, they released Domino Bones (Gets Dangereous) alongside with the stellar feature of Noel Gallagher. Nevertheless, in an interview with The Telegraph, Starkey confirmed that this was not a remembering band. “It’s not,” he said. “It’s like Mantra of the Cosmos with them in it. It’s Sean of the Cosmos and James of the Cosmos. It’s still my band.”
In addition, Brooklyn Vegan listened to the new single and said “it’s trippy, acoustic and a little more melodically centered than the previous Mantra of the Cosmos singles so far, and features James, Sean and Shaun sharing lead vocals.”
Primrose Hill
On the other hand, this is also not the first time that two of The Beatles’ kids release music together. Back on April 12, 2024, Sean Lennon and James McCartney launched their tune, Primrose Hill.
It is an intimate yet original track that surprised The Beatles’ fans. Moreover, it is dedicated to the London hill with the same name. The song talks about loving memories from the authors and a child’s vision of the characteristic view.
James McCartney also posted on Instagram about this iconic duo saying: “Primrose Hill is here! Today I am so very excited to share my latest song co-written by my good friend @sean_ono_lennon . With the release of this song it feels like we’re really getting the ball rolling and I am so excited to continue to share music with you.”
Furthermore, he commented on the single’s inspiration: “I had a vision as a child in Scotland, on what was a lovely summers day. Letting go, I saw my true love and saviour in my mind’s eye. Primrose Hill is about getting the ball rolling with me & finding this person.”
