SZA drops new single Save The Day for the soundtrack of Disney and Pixar’s latest movie Hoppers. The new animated movie will be out in theatres worldwide on March 6, 2026.
The Kill Bill singer just dropped a brand-new single that will be part of a huge production Hoppers. The official launch of the song took place on February 20, 2026, on every streaming platform. Nevertheless, we will have to wait a little longer to see Hoppers on the big screen. The Disney-Pixar production directed by Daniel Chong will be available on March 6, 2026.
Save The Day is an energetic tune that talks about the hope and bravery the characters have to face throughout the movie. Sources confirmed that the new song will be found at the end of the production while the ending credits appear on screen. Moreover, Save The Day was co-written by SZA, British musician Ben Lovett and American producer Rob Bisel.
SZA talks about being part of Hoppers‘ soundtrack
SZA talked about how she feels being part of an animated movie and what it means to her at the movie’s premiere. “It’s adorable and I’m so grateful. I’m just dipping my toe into like making children’s music. It is my first little sprinkle of original thoughts and ideas. I just really love this movie. This movie is so full of turns, thrills, energy and the feeling of being on the edge of your seat, but also inspirational”, admitted SZA at the Hoppers premiere.
(Is it a crime to fall in love with all I see as if it’s mine? (It’s mine)/ Am I a fool to think that I could change the world and not change too? (Too)/ Is it so bad to pause the future to appreciate the past? (Past)/ Can we move on? It’s all so heavy, need more strength to carry on/ Caught in the friction, I’m on a mission/ Here’s to hopin’ there’s still a way/ In position, full of conviction/ Miss Tunnel-Vision to save the day) – Save The Day lyrics.
Hoppers’ director on SZA being in the soundtrack
On the other hand, SZA’s latest production came to her almost as a surprise, since she was requested for the song. According to Consequence, Hoppers’ director Daniel Chong specifically asked for the American singer-songwriter to be part of this project. “Every time we put a song there, it was a SZA song… We used Good Days once, and then we used Saturn once,” Chong admitted. “And there’s just a vibe for those two songs that I think had a melancholy (feel) to it, and a sort of joy but sadness to it that really felt like that is the mood for the end of the movie.”
SZA drops her new single Save The Day and these are its lyrics: (Is it a crime to fall in love with the whole world as if it’s mine?/ Am I a fool to think that I’m exempt from pain and losses too?/ Is it so bad to shut the door and just accept we can’t go back? (Back)/ How to move on? Pick up the pieces, build the strength to carry on)
SZA participating in other movie soundtracks
However, this is not the first time the American rapper and singer makes music for visual media. Back in 2018, she was part of one of the most resonated songs on the popular Black Panther. She created All the Stars alongside iconic rapper and multiple Grammy-winner Kendrick Lamar for the Marvel universe film.
Moreover, this tune was such a major hit that it was nominated for Best Original Song at the 2019 Oscar Awards and the Golden Globe Awards. Furthermore, it managed to achieve the MTV Video Music Award for Best Visual Effects in 2018.

Back in 2021, SZA also recorded a version of Dear Evan Hansen’s The Anonymous Ones. While her song is not part of the Broadway original play, it was included in the cinematic adaptation’s soundtrack. In addition, this song was specifically written to appear on the big screen. SZA’s version of The Anonymous Ones writers were Benj Pasek, Justin Paul and Amandla Stenberg.
