Summer Walker’s new album Finally Over It arrives at the music sphere in grand style. This launch marks the end of her Over It trilogy, after releasing Over It in 2019, and Still Over It in 2021.
Finally Over It came out on November 14, 2025, and it is the Girls Need Love singer’s third studio album. 18 fire tracks form the new disc, which is divided as well into two parts. The first part, known as For Better, has an inspirational and personal growth side to it. Walker said that “For Better is about choosing me, fully and finally,”. “I’ve made choices that didn’t always make sense to anyone else, but I don’t regret any of them. They all taught me something”, she added.

However, For Worse, focuses more into her own mistakes, talking about troubling love stories. In this second half, we are able to see a more honest and rawer version of the R&B superstar. She also mentioned that “I’ve made choices that didn’t always make sense to anyone else, but I don’t regret any of them. They all taught me something.”
About this second part, she said that “For Worse isn’t bitter, but honest. I’ve loved too hard, ignored red flags, and tried to fix things that were beyond repair. The difference now is I love myself that deeply, I’ve grown, I’ve healed, and I refuse to accept anything less than princess treatment.”
On the other hand, while Finally Over It is an R&B album, it has a more “neat” and mature production. Furthermore, there are many different artists involved in this fire disc. Some of them are Mariah the Scientist; Latto and Doja Cat, in Go Girl; Chris Brown, in Baby; Anderson .Paak, in 1-800 Heartbreak; Bryson Tiller; 21 Savage; Brent Faiyaz; GloRilla; Sexyy Red and Teddy Swims, among others.
Moreover, this fire hit broke some records already. Summer Walker’s latest album had the biggest debut for a female R&B artist. Variety magazine praised the Atlanta musician saying that “with her third studio album Finally Over It debuting at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 this week, Summer Walker not only secured the biggest R&B debut by a woman in 2025, but also chalked up her fourth Top 10 entry on the chart”.
Finally Over It deals with different themes all at once from a very personal and intimate vision. Many of Walker’s songs talk about emotional scars healing, while focusing on the main album’s theme. Self-esteem is a recurrent idea in this new album; she talks about choosing herself “fully and finally”.
In an interview with Jennifer Hudson, she commented on her reasoning. “Despite it sounding like I’m ‘finally over it’ like, ‘Oh, she’s really mad now’, it’s more so a different era, putting down the baggage, putting down any stress, and just moving towards a better life”, the White Tee artist said.
