This Friday, October 18, the second part of the successful Smile movie will be released in American theaters.
After the success of the 2022 horror film Smile, the sequel will hit the big screen in just two days. Horror fans can once again dive into a universe where sinister smiles hide dark and terrifying secrets.
Originally, Smile was intended for streaming, with Paramount initially planning to release it on Paramount+. However, whether due to doubts about the platform’s reach or because someone saw the potential of the film, the decision was changed. Smile not only made it to theaters, but did so with a highly effective advertising campaign that played on the unsettling smiles featured in the plot.
In Smile 2, the focus is less on continuing the original story and more on creating a new narrative with a fresh protagonist. The sequel tells the story of Skye Riley (Naomi Scott), a pop idol who begins to experience increasingly disturbing and sinister events as she prepares for a world tour. To regain control of her life, Skye must confront her dark past before everything spirals out of control.

Naomi Scott, known for her roles in Aladdin and the latest Charlie’s Angels reboot, takes the lead as Skye Riley. She is joined by Lukas Gage and Rosemarie DeWitt, both playing new characters unrelated to the original storyline. However, Kyle Gallner, who played a supporting role in the first Smile, will return to maintain some connection to the original film.
Paramount has set the release of Smile 2 for October 18, and the anticipation grows not only for the film itself but also for what new ideas the promotional campaign will bring to this terrifying event.
Although there is still no official release date for “Smile 2” on streaming, we can take as a reference the premiere of other productions from the studio on Paramount+ USA. It is known that the company waits an average of 50 days to add these titles to its catalog, so the horror film would be arriving on the platform in December 2024.

It is worth noting that the streaming service that will host the feature film in Latin America and Spain has not yet been revealed. This note will be updated with that information.
