Sabrina Carpenter brought twice the charm and star power to Lollapalooza 2025 during her highly anticipated headlining performance on Sunday night (August 3) in Chicago, when she adorably “arrested” three members of global K-pop supergroup TWICE for being “too beautiful”.

The lighthearted moment came during one of Carpenter’s now-iconic segments from her Short n’ Sweet Tour, where she theatrically “arrests” celebrities in the audience before launching into her hit song “Juno.”
This playful bit has become a fan-favorite tradition on her tour and has previously featured stars like Margaret Qualley and Salma Hayek. But during her Lollapalooza headliner, Carpenter’s faux handcuffing took on a new level of international appeal when she directed the moment toward TWICE membes Jihyo, Sana and Momo.
Arrests and Marriage Proposals
“Damn, we have some beautiful people in this audience tonight,” Carpenter said on stage as cameras zoomed in on the three TWICE stars, their images splashed across the massive Jumbotron screens.
“But there are three girls I can’t take my eyes off of. I was gonna say, ‘cause I had to look not once… but TWICE,” she quipped, earning cheers and laughter from the crowd.
The 25-year-old singer-songwriter, known for her clever stage banter, then asked the trio: “Are you guys single, by chance? Would you maybe want to get married? If I give you these handcuffs, then I could marry all three of you, right?”
The TWICE members responded with waves and blown kisses, embracing the fun moment to the delight of fans both at the festival and online.

Sabrina’s Long-Lasting Love for TWICE
Sabrina Carpenter and TWICE have a history of mutual admiration, as the superstar has been a longtime ONCE.
In 2019, Carpenter covered TWICE’s “Candy Pop” at a concert in Japan—in 2023, she became a successful fan when presented the group with the Breakthrough Artist Award at the Billboard Women in Music Awards.
On the red carpet that year, the “emails i can’t send” singer gushed about her admiration for the group, telling Billboard: “I’ve been following them for quite a long time now. I’m obsessed with them. I’m just a really huge fan. They’re all so beautiful — they look like dolls.”
A Night Full Of Surprises
Carpenter followed the exchange by launching into a powerful performance of “Juno,” one of the standout tracks from her Billboard 200 No. 1 album Short n’ Sweet. Before she began, she blew kisses to the K-pop stars, making the interaction one of the most talked-about highlights of the night.
In addition to the viral TWICE cameo, Carpenter’s Lollapalooza set featured other standout moments, including a surprise collaboration with legendary funk band Earth, Wind & Fire, where they performed crowd-pleasers “Let’s Groove” and “September.”

The genre-blending performance showcased Carpenter’s versatility and growing influence across multiple generations of music lovers.
“THIS IS FOR” the “Man’s Best Friend”
The Lollapalooza moment comes at an exciting time for Carpenter, who is preparing to release her highly anticipated new studio album, Man’s Best Friend, on August 29, 2025.
The album is led by her chart-topping single “Manchild,” which recently hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Just days before her festival appearance, Carpenter unveiled the official tracklist for the album, building even more buzz ahead of its release.
TWICE, on the other hand, recently made their much-awaited comeback with their 4th full-length album, THIS IS FOR. The group also kicked off the first leg of their world tour, with two sold-out shows at Incheon’s Inspire Arena on July 19 and 20.
All nine members are expected to extend their contracts with JYP Entertainment, as reported by MHN Sports on July 21, as they approach their 10th anniversary.
