European dates of the eras tour are coming closer each day and some Swifties might not be familiar with the show-openers: Paramore
Every time The Eras Tour arrives at any city social media becomes flooded with recordings of the concert. However, sometimes the main protagonist is not Miss Taylor Swift, but her Top-Level guest artists. Names like Sabrina Carpenter, Girl in Red or Gracie Abrahams among many others join the stage with Taylor. They serve as an appetizer before the 3 hour-long show and fans are (almost) just as hyped to see them as to see Taylor. For this European leg of the tour, Paramore are the guest artists.
The band are the chosen guest for Europe and the UK
Formed in Franklin, Tennessee in 2004, the group is an American pop-punk-rock band. Currently, the band consists of three members: vocalist Hayley Williams, guitarist Taylor York, and drummer Zac Farro. Notably, Williams and Farro are founding members, while York joined in 2007 after befriending the original lineup in high school. The singer Hayley Williams holds the distinction of being the sole member to appear on all six of the band’s studio albums.
This is the setlist Paramore will be performing at The Eras Tour:
Some fans might have been too young, or not even born yet when Paramore made their debut. The Eras Tour provides an amazing chance for all the Swifties to meet new top-tier artists they might have missed.
Misery Business walked so Better Than Revenge could run
The Hayley Williams-led pack had their fair amount of controversy in the past. Similar to Taylor Swift‘s “Better Than Revenge” they will be performing Misery Business. In a 2017 interview with Track 7, Hayley Williams addressed a controversial lyric from the single, deemed anti-feminist by some. The lyric in question states: “Once a whore, you’re nothing more / I’m sorry, that will never change.”
The official video for Misery Business uploaded on 2007:
Williams expressed frustration, having already grappled with the meaning years before public scrutiny. “When the criticism surfaced,” she told Track 7, “I had to revisit a resolved issue publicly. However, showing humility was crucial.” She explained her teenage perspective when writing the lyrics, drawing inspiration from a diary entry. “Unknowingly,” Williams said, “I perpetuated a lie I, and many others, had internalized – the ‘cool girl’ myth. What does that even mean? Who defines cool? Are they all men? Women on unattainable pedestals?” In the end, the group decided to still perform this iconic song and let the fans be conscious of the moment it was written and what it meant at the time.
No matter the guest artist or their past controversies. The best of the best have been chosen personally by Taylor Swift and European fans can be prepared for a top-quality pre-show when The Eras Tour arrives on the continent.
