Phoenix shocks Minnesota with historic comeback and overtime win, Las Vegas levels series with statement rout of Indiana, now both WNBA semifinals head home tied 1-1.

On Tuesday, the Phoenix Mercury stunned the Minnesota Lynx on the road, clawing back from a 20-point third-quarter deficit to claim an 89-83 overtime win, one of the largest turnarounds in postseason history.

Alyssa Thomas was central to Phoenix’s fight, scoring 14 of her 19 points after halftime and helping drive defensive stops that fueled the rally. Satou Sabally poured in 24 points, nailed five threes, and set up Sami Whitcomb’s clutch game-tying three-pointer with just seconds left to force the extra session.

Phoenix’s resilience was on display as they outscored the Lynx 10-4 in overtime and saw their bench contribute a massive 25-3 advantage. Despite fatigue from four games in seven nights, the Mercury never quit, flipping a series that looked all but lost.

The loss was a tough pill for Minnesota, who saw a lead evaporate amid turnovers and missed rebounding opportunities, as Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve lamented a lack of toughness and hustle in decisive moments. The WNBA series now shifts to a raucous PHX Arena with momentum on the Mercury’s side.

Meanwhile, the Las Vegas Aces found their spark after a disappointing series opener, dominating the Indiana Fever 90-68 to even their own semifinal at 1-1. A’ja Wilson led with 25 points, 9 rebounds and five steals, while NaLyssa Smith broke out for 18 points—helping the Aces control the paint and dictate the game from the start.

The Aces forced turnovers, won the battle of energy, and showed their postseason pedigree as they respond to adversity led by Wilson’s leadership and Becky Hammon’s tactical adjustments.

With both WNBA series tied, semifinal action shifts to Phoenix and Indianapolis for the weekend, with all four teams carrying belief and urgency. The Mercury and Aces have momentum, but the Lynx and Fever are battle-tested and determined to bounce back. All playoff spots and dreams are still alive as the road to the Finals comes down to heart, hustle and late-game magic.
