In a heartfelt statement released on May 30, Gigi and Bella Hadid publicly introduced their younger half-sister.

Aydan Nix, a 23-year-old creative proffessional based in New York City, is the daughter of their father, Mohamed Hadid, from a brief relationship more than two decades ago.
“Over 20 years ago, our dad, while single, had a brief relationship that led to a pregnancy,” the Hadid sisters shared, as reported by Daily Mail. “Aydan was born and raised in Florida, growing up with the man she lovingly knew as her father until his sudden passing when she was 19.”
Following her adoptive father’s death, Nix took a genetic test out of curiosity—one that would reveal a surprising biological link to the Hadid family.
“We first connected in late 2023, and from that moment on, we’ve embraced Aydan with open arms,” the sisters continued. “She’s spent time with all of us, including our dad, and we’ve cherished this unexpected and beautiful addition to our family.”
The Hadids emphasized that Aydan’s privacy is paramount:
“She and her family value their privacy, and we fully respect that. We kindly ask others to do the same and honor her wish and right to her anonymity as she continues her life as a young woman in New York.”
Who Is Aydan Nix?
Though Nix keeps a relatively low public profile, glimpses of her life have surfaced. She graduated this May with a BFA in Integrated Design from Parsons School of Design in Manhattan, where she focused on Fine and Studio Arts. She also participated in a summer abroad program at Parsons Paris.
Professionally, Nix has immersed herself in the creative world, with experience in editorial styling, branding, costume design, and visual media. According to her LinkedIn, she’s interned with photographers and stylists, helped create red carpet and editorial looks, and even worked retail at Harley’s, a vintage boutique in New York.
“My work blends editorial styling, branding, and cultural storytelling through a multidisciplinary lens,” she shared online.
Originally from Orlando, Florida, Nix was an honors student and cheerleader at a local prep school. Her upbringing remained separate from the public spotlight until her father’s death and subsequent DNA testing revealed her connection to the Hadid family.
A Warm Welcome
While this revelation has only now reached the public, Aydan’s bond with the Hadid siblings has been growing quietly behind the scenes. A source told Us Weekly that Gigi, Bella, and Anwar have been in contact with Aydan for over a year and a half.

“They have welcomed her with open arms and are fully embracing her as their sibling,” said the insider, describing the news as a “complete shock” to the family.
According to the source, the Hadids chose to keep the situation private to protect Aydan’s privacy and allow her time to process this life-changing discovery.
“There were a lot of questions at first,” the source said, “but the siblings remained positive and open-minded.”
While they don’t see each other often, Aydan reportedly shares a passion for New York City and fashion with her sisters and admires them deeply.
Mohamed Hadid Speaks Out
As for Mohamed Hadid, his relationship with Aydan has been described as a “slow burn.” Though he hasn’t publicly commented on the situation, reports indicate he follows her on Instagram and has had personal interactions with her.
“Mohamed took accountability and shared the news with the family, which is when they all connected as a whole,” the insider added. “He’s not especially close with Aydan but is supportive, and they are all figuring things out together.”
Despite the complexities, it’s clear the Hadid family is approaching this unexpected chapter with compassion and care. As Aydan steps into her own creative path, her famous siblings are standing by her—quietly, respectfully, and with love.
