Louis Tomlinson just announced the release of his next album after launching his new single Lemonade. How Did I Get Here? will be his third studio album after Walls (2020) and Faith in the Future (2022).
The former One Direction member just released his new single Lemonade, marking the biggening of his new music era. Moreover, we are able to see some changes comparing this last track to his previous albums. It is a funk-pop tune with a predominance of guitars, bright pianos and an “organic percussion”. This makes the hit have a catchy chorus that says: “She’s so bitter, she’s so sweet, a little taste is all I need, lemonade, lemonade”.
Tomlinson also admitted that “the most important thing was for it to sound ambitious on the sound level; it had to be big and fun”. Furthermore, he talked about entering his new chapter saying: “For me, Lemonade has an instantaneous and natural personality. At the end, it resulted the perfect way of entering this new stage”.
Fans started to think something was coming when a suspicious website, called louis-lemonade.com, was released. This cryptic site made fans theories to start boiling and thinking of a new album. Withing a span of hours, Louis was trending in social media. The web also came with a message on its ‘About Us’ category that said: “A sip pf balance: Louis’ lemonade began with a single glass, sweet yet bitter, simple yet alive. More than a drink, it felt like a lucky charm, a symptom of coming to life. Some call it balance, others call it joy. We call it lemonade. Or, in another spirit: Pura Vida”.

Walls, Faith in the Future and How Did We Get Here?
We can also feel differences across this new album and his other two. His debut LP Walls had a more pop-rock British classic sound to it. In addition, this one was heavily influenced by Oasis, Arctic Monkeys and 2000’s ‘Britpop’. Walls was a long time in the making after Louis’ departure from One Direction. This album’s lyrics were also more introspective and melancholic, while focusing on overcoming challenges, loss and finding his own identity.
Faith in the Future was the second studio album he launched. This disc was more conceptual and ‘atmospheric’ than the others. Faith in the Future had an indie and alternative feeling that was new to Louis’ music. Hit songs Bigger Than Me and Silver Tongues are an example of a more ambitious and a more worked production while still being serious.
How Did I Get Here?, which is planned to be released January 23, 2026, new single Lemonade breaks with this ethic. Its guitars, the groovy bass and percussion remind us of a cheerful summer moment. Louis also admitted that this had a more optimistic look to it. Tomlinson affirmed as well that he would be touring with his new album. The How Did I Get Here? World Tour will stop across Europe and America sooner than we think.
