Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik, former bandmates, just announced the launch of a documentary together. This comes as huge news for directioners everywhere as it has been so long since the last time they were seen together.
The docuseries will focus on a road trip across the United States, in which they will be traveling, exploring and having intimate conversations. They described as “a spontaneous adventure of reconnection, exploration, and a lot of laughter”. This bright collaboration arrives after dark times. This October marks one year since the former bandmate Liam Payne’s tragic death. Their grief brought them closer together again and it is expected that they will discuss this matter in the documentary.

It has been roughly 10 years since the separation of the iconic boyband One Direction. Since Zayn’s departure from the band nothing has been the same. Moreover, Tomlinson and Malik got into a heated argument years ago on X. Then, everyone assumed that after this tense moment their relationship would never be the way it was. However, they have proved all of us wrong with this reunion.

The documentary comes as a gift from both artists that want to share their experience with fans. It will consist of a 3-episode docuseries produced and distributed by Netflix. The main objectives of this production are “opening up about life, love, loss and fatherhood”. It will be directed by the documentary artists expert, director Nicola Marsh. Furthermore, it will be produced by Campfire Studios. The ex-bandmates also admitted that it will be launched next year, although there is no official release date yet.
Possible Zouis collab in the making
On the other hand, Louis’ new album is expected to be released in 2026 as well. It is possible that in the docuseries Tomlinson opens up about the creation of How Did I Get Here?. Moreover, rumors are talking about a possible collaboration between the two bandmates. Louis in an interview with iHeartRadio left this matter in the air.
iHeartRadio: A lot of fans are convinced that you may be working with Zayn on something special on the project.
Louis Tomlinson: Yeah, (I have) heard that, (I have) heard that, yeah.
iHR: And what was your reaction to that?
LT: I thought that was pretty interesting. Hmm.
iHR: Hmm. And may they be right? May they be wrong?
LT: I suppose they will just have to wait and see, aye.
iHR: How dare you do this to us!
LT: I know.
