Little Mix’s Leigh-Anne releases solo debut album My Ego Told Me To after being a longtime project. This is the third and final member of the girl group to release music as a solo artist.
The British artist’s disc came out on February 20, 2026, on every streaming service as her first solo studio album. In her brand-new production, Leigh-Anne Pinnock shows a mix of different music styles that represent her cultural heritage.
She does this as well as exploring through her artistic and personal identity. While hearing the records, there is a significant number of elements from pop, R&B, reggae, Caribbean vibes and afro-inspired dancehall.

She talked about how she felt leaving Warner Records to go independent in an interview with NME. “I knew I needed to leave my label and go independent. I was kind of butting heads with them, and it just wasn’t good.” She then met producer Clarence Coffee Jr., known for working with top artists such as Dua Lipa. At that moment, Leigh-Anne had a recording session with Clarence that ended up in this new team. Now, Little Mix’s Leigh-Anne releases her solo debut album My Ego Told Me To.
“I had so much to get off my chest,” she admits to NME. “And because I just felt so safe with [Clarence and his team], I literally told them everything that was going on. And Dead And Gone and Revival came out of that. Both tracks have such a different energy compared to anything I’ve done before – and more confidence as well.”

On the other hand, some of these tracks have been out for some time now as singles. Been a Minute is My Ego Told Me To’s first single, and it came out on July 18, 2025. Furthermore, this release meant the beginning of Pinnock’s new musical era as an independent artist. This was the British singer’s first production with Virgin Music Group after leaving Warner Records.

Burning Up was the second single to be launched a little after Been a Minute. In this new track we were able to feel the warmer and sensual vibes of Leigh-Anne’s new musical era. The third single, Dead and Gone, came out in October 2025 as a preview of what My Ego Told Me To was going to be like. Most Wanted, the last single was released just before the album’s official release. The collaboration with Jamaican artists Valiant and Rvssian brought the Caribbean influence on the disc.
