The Jonas Brothers officially kicked off their highly anticipated JONAS20 20th anniversary tour with an unforgettable opening night at MetLife Stadium.
Brothers Kevin Jonas (37), Joe Jonas (35), and Nick Jonas (32) delivered a high-energy, career-spanning set in their home state, but one of the night’s most talked-about moments came when they revisited their 2008 Disney Channel hit movie Camp Rock.
A Camp Rock Reunion Over a Decade in the Making
Joe Jonas, who famously played pop star Shane Gray in the film, began performing “Gotta Find You”—a fan favorite from the movie’s soundtrack—before introducing a surprise guest: Demi Lovato (32), who starred as Mitchie Torres.
The crowd erupted as the former co-stars, who also briefly dated in 2010, reunited on stage to sing Camp Rock classics “This Is Me” and “Wouldn’t Change a Thing.”
“This is the first time we’ve performed this together in almost ten years,” Joe told the audience, with Lovato chiming in, “It might have been even longer.” Fans were quick to notice the added nostalgia when Joe incorporated lines from “Gotta Find You” into “This Is Me,” just like in the original movie.

Like Venus and Mars: Joe and Demi’s Relationship
After years of working together, touring, and sharing the Disney spotlight, the pair began dating in early 2010, a move that thrilled fans who had long hoped their fictional romance might become reality.
Their relationship, however, was short-lived, lasting only a few months before ending in May 2010. Joe described the split as mutual and insisted they remained friends, though Demi later admitted it was a challenging time for her personally.
Despite the brief romance, they have maintained a cordial relationship over the years.
How the Brothers Landed Their Camp Rock Roles
Before the performance, Nick Jonas reflected on how the movie came together for them. “Joe got the job, and then somehow our dad figured it out to get me and Kevin involved too,” Nick shared. “I think it’s time we walk down memory lane to celebrate a little movie called Camp Rock.”
Kevin Jonas and Nick both played Shane’s fictional bandmates, Jason and Nate, in the Disney Channel Original Movie, making the reunion especially sentimental for the trio.
Demi Lovato’s Husband Shares Sweet Backstage Moment
Lovato’s husband, musician Jordan “Jutes” Lutes (34), posted clips from the reunion on Instagram, showing Demi walking on stage to deafening cheers. “Couldn’t be more proud… I love you sooo much, baby,” he captioned, tagging Lovato.
Both Joe and Demi shared their excitement on social media after the show, posting a video of them lip syncing to “Wouldn’t Change a Thing” and another clip mimicking fellow Disney star Debby Ryan’s famous “Sat down with the President of Disney Channel” meme. Demi captioned the post: “For the history books, @joejonas.”
A Family Affair on Stage
The surprises didn’t stop there. Later in the night, the Jonas Brothers invited their family members on stage, including their parents Kevin Jonas Sr. and Denise Jonas, younger brother Frankie Jonas (24), Kevin’s wife Danielle Jonas, and their daughters Valentina (8) and Alena (11).
Together, they performed the 2007 ballad “When You Look Me in the Eyes,” creating one of the night’s most heartwarming moments.
The JONAS20 Tour: Two Decades of Music and Memories
Just days before the launch, the brothers appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on August 7 to talk about preparing for the milestone tour.
“There’s so much music to play,” Kevin explained. “The setlist is hard to build, but at the same time it’s so fun because we get to take breaks and admire each other’s work.” Joe jokingly added, “And pee breaks mostly.”

Nick reflected on their journey: “It’s hard to believe it’s been 20 years. When we started planning the show, it felt impossible to sum up two decades in one setlist. But we think we’ve created something that represents every era of our career — and we’ve got amazing special guests lined up.”
