Jeff Shell, the current president of Paramount Global, has been sued for $150 million over an alleged public relations contract. The lawsuit was filed in the United States and claims that Shell failed to honor a business agreement related to crisis management and reputation services.
Shell became president of Paramount Global in 2024, after previously serving as CEO of NBCUniversal. He left NBCUniversal in 2023 following an internal investigation into an inappropriate relationship with a colleague.
What the lawsuit claims
The lawsuit was filed by Lisa Bloom and her public relations firm. According to the complaint, Bloom’s firm entered into an agreement to provide strategic PR and legal-related communication services to Shell during a sensitive period in his career.
The lawsuit claims that Bloom and her team worked to protect Shell’s public image and manage media coverage. In return, they say Shell agreed to a long-term contract worth up to $150 million. The plaintiffs allege that after receiving the services, Shell refused to finalize or pay under the agreement.
The lawsuit argues that Shell benefited from the work while failing to meet his financial obligations.

Shell strongly denies the allegations
Jeff Shell has denied the claims made in the lawsuit. Through his legal team, he stated that no binding contract existed and that the allegations are false. His representatives said the lawsuit is an attempt to collect money for services that were never formally agreed to under a valid contract.
Shell’s legal team also said the claims are exaggerated and that they plan to fight the case in court.
Paramount responds
Paramount Global said the lawsuit is a personal matter and not related to the company’s business. In a short statement, Paramount confirmed that it is not a party to the lawsuit and that the claims do not involve the company.
The studio added that Shell continues to carry out his duties as president.
Legal process moves forward
The case is still in its early stages. No court date has been set, and it could take months or longer to reach a resolution. Legal experts say the outcome will depend on whether the court finds evidence of a valid contract or agreement between the two sides.
For now, Jeff Shell remains in his role at Paramount while the legal dispute continues. The lawsuit adds another high-profile legal case to the ongoing conversation about power, accountability, and contracts in the entertainment industry.
