The British-Albanian singer Dua Lipa is one of the biggest pop sensations nowadays and her career is about to give another blow to the music industry

Dua Lipa, a prominent contemporary artist, has achieved remarkable success, evident in her song for the “Barbie” movie and her immense streaming numbers. Her dedication to quality allows her the luxury of taking time to craft her music.

Lipa hasn’t released an album since 2021, meticulously preparing her next project for three years. The creative process began in 2021 with jotting down ideas in a random store-bought notebook. This notebook has become a repository for a diverse range of ideas, including both potentially successful and unsuccessful ones. Lipa herself acknowledges that the notebook holds witness to both brilliant and mediocre compositions, some destined for the cutting room floor.

The impressive total of 97 songs written showcases Dua Lipa‘s consistent work ethic and creative exploration. However, with characteristic honesty, she admits that around 80% of these compositions fall short of her standards. This translates to just 17 songs with potential hit-making qualities, considering Lipa‘s proven ability to craft successful music. These songs are likely contenders for inclusion in her upcoming album.

While acknowledging the potential in some of the remaining ideas, Lipa recognizes that they currently lack the quality she strives for and may not make the final cut. However, some elements from these songs might be revisited and reworked in the future. Many eagerly anticipate Dua‘s next project. The enduring popularity of “Future Nostalgia,” her most recent album, fuels the excitement as fans eagerly await a new sonic offering. With Lipa’s meticulous approach, it seems the wait might be nearing its end.

Her concert cache could go even higher after it

Dua Lipa thrived during the pandemic. Her album “Future Nostalgia,” released amidst lockdowns, became a massive success, propelling her to international stardom. Unsurprisingly, the announcement of her new album after four years sent social media into a frenzy. While only two songs have been released so far, the early signs point towards another 2020-like success.

With nearly 75 million monthly Spotify listeners, Dua Lipa is among the platform’s most streamed artists. This translates to significant wealth. Her estimated fee per concert is 1.5 million euros, owing to her 20 million follower milestone. Furthermore, Dua Lipa owns the rights to her music, generating an additional estimated 30 million dollars in profits according to Net Worth Spot, a feat not all artists can claim.

This income is further boosted by lucrative brand deals, from perfumes to clothing, earning her a spot on the 2022 list of the UK’s richest young individuals, exceeding 70 million euros. Her wealth likely rose even higher with the “Future Nostalgia” tour.

Beyond music and brands, Dua Lipa ventured into cinema. Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie entrusted her with not only the voice for the lead character in the upcoming “Barbie” movie but also a role in the film.

Currently, she’s immersed in developing her new album, expressing great excitement for the project. The first single, “Houdini,” has already garnered nearly 85 million views on YouTube within three months. Her second track, “Training Season,” inspired by ABBA, is garnering similar success. Social media is abuzz with praise for the song, citing its 60s-inspired structure, rock-infused guitars, and ABBA-esque piano bridge. Fans eagerly await the unveiling of the remaining album, already anticipating another global hit.
