Ousmane Dembele claims his first Ballon d’Or after PSG’s Champions League triumph, Aitana Bonmati secures third consecutive women’s award, while Lamine Yamal and Vicky Lopez wins the Kopa Trophies.
Paris Saint-Germain’s Ousmane Dembele and Barcelona midfielder Aitana Bonmati took home football’s highest individual honors at the 2025 Ballon d’Or, capping standout seasons for club and country in Paris. Dembele’s relentless form for PSG, 35 goals, 16 assists, and a decisive role in the team’s first Champions League title, brought him his first Ballon d’Or, beating out rivals like Lamine Yamal and Vitinha. His final tally also included the Ligue 1 top scorer award and decisive performances in Europe’s biggest matches.
Bonmati becomes the first woman to win three consecutive Ballon d’Or titles, leading Barcelona to another treble and starring for Spain in the European Championship final. She scored and assisted in key knockout games, even overcoming a late-season health scare to finish as player of the tournament—her third golden ball in as many years.
Among youth honors, Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal and Vicky Lopez dominated the Kopa Trophies, rewarding season-defining campaigns and strengthening the club’s identity as a hub of emerging talent.
Recognition extended to managers and goalkeepers: Sarina Wiegman claimed the Johan Cruyff women’s coaching prize for steering England to back-to-back Euros victories, while PSG boss Luis Enrique was honored on the men’s side. England’s Hannah Hampton won best women’s keeper, and PSG’s Gianluigi Donnarumma received the men’s Yashin Trophy.
