Last Sunday, Rebecca Loos weighed in on her past fling with the footballer in a new “60 Minutes Australia” interview.

Over the weekend, former assistant and model Rebecca Loos (47) sat down with “60 Minutes Australia” to discuss the claims she initially made back in 2004 about her love affair with football star David Beckham (49).
The alleged affair
Allegedly, the affair took place over two decades ago during Beckham’s residency in Madrid. Back in 2003, the Beckham family made Madrid their home after David signed with Real Madrid, and Loos was hired to assist the British footballer during his transition from Manchester United. However, things escalated quickly – much to Victoria (50) Beckham’s demise, the Dutch PA became his paramour in what she alleges was a four-month-long affair.

In 2004, she revealed all the details in a paid tell-all interview with the “News of the World”, which quickly became a massive tabloid scandal. Loos claims the affair began when Victoria was out of town and Beckham invited her to a hotel – allegedly, they initially developed a close relationship, with Beckham confiding in her about his loneliness while living away from his wife.
This quickly developed into a full-blown romance, with frequent late-night text messages and secret rendezvous at hotels and private apartments. Loos even stated that she was Beckham’s “second wife” during his time in Spain.
The Beckhams respond
Beckham quickly denied the allegations, calling them “ludicrous” and “absurd” since he was “happily married”.
“What appeared this morning is just one further example,” he said in 2004. “I have a wonderful wife and two very special kids. There is nothing any third party can do to change this.”
The Netflix documentary “Beckham” (2023) briefly touched on the scandal, leading to renewed public interest. Victoria hinted that the period was one of the hardest for their marriage, though she didn’t name Loos directly.
“I don’t know how we got through it in all honesty,” Beckham said. “Victoria is everything to me. To see her hurt was incredibly difficult… We needed to fight for each other and for our family. What we had was worth fighting for.”

Loos sticks to the truth
In her latest interview with the Australian programme, Loos revealed that she decided to speak out publicly before claims of an affair emerged in the British media, because she “always had the opinion [that] it’s better that it comes from me and I have some sort of control.”
“In my opinion, it was a very brave thing to do to go up against them. I have stuck to the truth. I’ve never exaggerated. I never lied about a single thing.
“Why? Because I’m going up against the strongest, most powerful couple in the media who have all the money in the world for the best PR, the best lawyers. And all I had on my side was the truth.”
It is undeniable that Loos profited from the scandal, selling multiple interviews and later appearing on reality TV shows – in recent years, however, Loos has stepped away from the public eye, living in Norway as a yoga instructor and mother.
