Bell holds off Keselowski after a wild caution-filled showdown, as early playoff eliminations and a new tire compound spark non-stop action under the lights.

NASCAR’s Bristol Night Race delivered the unpredictability everyone had been hoping for. With new, ultra-soft right-side tires from Goodyear and a track known for chaos, Saturday night was all about survival, strategy, and timing, and Christopher Bell nailed all three.

The Joe Gibbs Racing driver stormed from fifth to first in the final four laps, surviving a “bump-and-run” from Brad Keselowski to grab his fourth win of the season and send a message to the rest of the playoff field.

Bell, Keselowski, and a handful of others pitted for what fresh tires they had left before the final restart, while risk-takers like Zane Smith and Alex Bowman gambled on worn rubber. When the green flag dropped with four laps to go, Bell made quick work of the old-tire cars, slicing through the chaos and holding off Keselowski’s desperate last-corner nudge to seal the win by just 0.343 seconds.

Strategy wasn’t the only story of this Nascar night. The race saw 36 lead changes among 14 drivers and a jaw-dropping 137 laps run under caution, the most for any Bristol Night Race in two decades. The aggressive tire degradation forced teams to manage stints carefully, adding another layer of drama as leaders often faded quickly and pit timing became everything. Drivers and crews were kept guessing all night about when to push and when to save, completely changing the usual Bristol script.

The Round of 16 playoff cut was brutal: Alex Bowman, Austin Dillon, Shane van Gisbergen, and Josh Berry fell short of advancing in the Nascar. Bowman mounted a late charge but dropped back after a long run on old tires, and Berry’s playoff hopes ended in Stage 1 with a car fire.

Joe Gibbs Racing swept the opening playoff round with wins from Bell, Chase Briscoe, and Denny Hamlin, and now Bell heads to New Hampshire, one of his best tracks, with major momentum. As pit crews, strategists and drivers catch their breath after Bristol’s tire war, the next round is set, and the championship chase just got a lot more interesting.
