BTS returns with their new album Arirang, after almost four years without releasing new music. Fans freaked out when receiving the great news since it has been a while.
Arirang comes as the band’s first production back after being away because of Korea’s military service. Their latest album just came out on March 20, 2026. This is their tenth studio album, and it comes with 14 new fire songs. Moreover, they explore and mix different music genres such as pop, hip-hop, R&B and many more.

The main focus on BTS’s newest production comes from the search for their roots, and where they started at the beginning. The album’s title, Arirang, proceeds after a very traditional Korean song. The boys’ intention with this was to use it as a symbol of their cultural identity, nostalgia and to connect Korea with the rest of the world. After almost four years, BTS returns with their new album Arirang.
The result after mixing their typical global pop style with traditional Korena influences is amazing. To top it off, on their songs they talk about their reconnection as a group and personal growth. Furthermore, they did not want to leave their fans out of their project. They also made sure to show their gratitude to the ARMY, BTS’s fans.
BTS on going back to the studio
BTS talked about how they felt coming back to the studio after military service in a recent interview with Bloomberg. RM explained that they thought after their time away, it would be easier to come up with new ideas, which did not happen at the end. That is why they went back to their start, their source.
“I kept thinking in the military, maybe after we are all discharged, then there’s going to be some great ideas popping up, which didn’t really come true. We were always talking about, what are you going to do next? What do you guys want to say to the world?”, RM said in the interview with Bloomberg.
“If BTS has a comeback in four years, that’s really a long time in this industry because it’s really hectic and fast. So we were talking like, why don’t we go back to where we were and where we all started: the root. That was one of the really, really few and rare things that tied all seven of us together after we had done our solo stuff and grown up. We met when we were like 15, 16, but we’re now in our 30s,” said RM about their new album Arirang in an interview with Bloomberg.
