Former Nickelodeon star Amanda Bynes has officially announced her weight loss journey with Ozempic.

The 39-year-old actress, best known for her roles in “She’s the Man” and “The Amanda Show”, revealed on her Instagram Stories that she is starting Ozempic injections with the goal of slimming down from 173 pounds to approximately 130.
“Oh, I’m going on Ozempic. So excited. I’m 173 now, so I hope to get down to like 130, which would be awesome so I look better in paparazzi pictures,” Bynes said in a video post.
“I will post about my Ozempic journey, of course,” she added.
Bynes previously opened up about gaining 20 pounds due to depression, and expressed a desire to return to her teenage weight of 110 pounds.
What Is Ozempic and Why Are So Many Celebrities Turning To It?
Ozempic, originally developed to treat type 2 diabetes, has quickly become one of the most talked-about weight loss solutions in Hollywood.
The drug contains semaglutide, a GLP-1 receptor agonist that works by regulating blood sugar levels and significantly suppressing appetite. Although FDA-approved for diabetes management, many individuals are now using Ozempic off-label for weight loss.
According to a May 2024 study, approximately 1 in 8 U.S. adults has tried a GLP-1 medication such as Ozempic or its sister drug Wegovy. The buzz around these injections continues to grow as more celebrities such as Lizzo or Kathy Bates share their personal Ozempic weight loss stories, both the successes and the challenges.
Amanda Bynes Joins OnlyFans
In a bold move that she describes as a “career renaissance,” Amanda Bynes launched an OnlyFans account in April. The subscription-based platform, typically associated with adult content, is being used by Bynes for a different purpose: to connect directly with fans, share fashion designs, and speak openly about her past — particularly her experience working at Nickelodeon.

“I’m doing OnlyFans to chat with my fans through DMs,” she wrote on Instagram. “I won’t be posting any sleazy content. Excited to join.”
The former child star is charging over $50 per month for access to her content, which currently includes selfies and behind-the-scenes updates. According to sources close to Bynes, the move is part of a larger plan to potentially return to the spotlight via reality TV or creative ventures, while maintaining full control over her narrative.
“Her intentions are to do this before seeking any reality show opportunities,” an insider told DailyMail. “She sees OnlyFans as a safe space to share her fashion work, life updates, and even discuss her time at Nickelodeon.”
Reflecting on Her Nickelodeon Past After “Quiet on Set” Documentary
The launch of Amanda’s OnlyFans comes about a year after the release of the explosive documentary “Quiet on Set”, which shed light on alleged toxic working conditions at Nickelodeon.

The film reignited public interest in Bynes’ early career and her relationship with network executive Dan Schneider, who left Nickelodeon in 2018 amid multiple allegations of misconduct.
A resurfaced clip from “Amanda’s Jacuzzi”, a sketch from “The Amanda Show”, shows a young Bynes in a hot tub alongside a fully clothed Schneider — a scene many fans and former staff have now called into question.
“Dan and Amanda had a close relationship, and I didn’t think anything different than that,” said Karyn Finley Thompson, a former editor at Nickelodeon. “The hot tub scene though I always thought was a little odd.”
While Bynes has not directly commented on the documentary, her OnlyFans platform is reportedly one way she plans to reclaim her narrative and offer fans a more personal perspective on her past in the entertainment industry.
A New Chapter
After stepping away from Hollywood in 2010 and spending nearly a decade under a court-ordered conservatorship, Bynes is slowly but surely carving out a new path.
With her Ozempic weight loss journey, her new OnlyFans career, and potential for future reality TV appearances, the actress appears to be reclaiming control of her life and image.
Despite past struggles and public scrutiny, Bynes is once again in the spotlight — but this time, on her own terms.
