Agostina Goñi Plataroti is a Spanish-Argentine actress and influencer based in Madrid. She has been acting “all her life” and played her first role on the big screen when she was only 12 years old. In addition to having been on the set of Elite, she has almost 265 thousand followers on Instagram. Soon, you will be able to see her in the series Maxima, playing the character Florencia de Coco.
How did acting become your profession ?
I started theater when I was 7 years old. Already in kindergarten, they made us do plays. By high school I specialized more and started doing film and musical theater. After shooting Excursión (Excursion), my first movie, I realized that acting was more than just a hobby. That’s when I began looking for schools and coaches. I ended up in the hands of coach Carlos Cabero, with whom I trained for 4 years. In his school, I had the opportunity to partake in several projects such as the feature film Nunca fuimos Ángeles (We were never Angels).
Sofar, what has been the experience as an actress that you have enjoyed the most?
Right now, I’m working on a show called The High Club. It’s all being a lot of fun, as it’s a comedy series, haha. The cast and crew are always laughing after each take because the script is amazing.

And what has been the most difficult for you?
I think the most complicated is another Netflix series I’m currently shooting called El Legado (The Legacy). I can’t say much: just that my character is a bit controversial, so it requires a lot of concentration and coordination with everyone involved.
If you could choose a role in any movie or play in the world, which one would you play?
Wow what a question! I would say the Joker from the Joaquin Phenix movie, but a female version. I love it. I would also love Matthew McConaughey’s character from Interstellar. And lastly, something sci-fi, which I love. Neytiri’s character in Avatar would be my crowning glory.
Do you have any role models?
I am inspired by the careers of Zendaya and Ana de Armas. Despite having come from different places, they managed to reach Hollywood. They did so with so much effort and talent, that they have landed incredible roles and built impressive careers.

You have acted in the famous series Elite. It must have been quite an experience, right?
It was an impressive experience. Besides being my first professional role in a series, there was a lot of talent and the project had a strong personality. Also, working with Carla was super easy. She and I spent some time discussing how we should kiss and it was very comfortable.
Can you tell us a little more about your upcoming role as Florencia de Coco in Máxima?
She is a 17-year-old girl who studies in an English school, but she is Argentinean. She rubs shoulders with Máxima and becomes one of her best friends. She is very sharp and daring, especially for the 1980s.
What did you learn by playing her?
It was a precious experience because it made me go back to my youth and connect with my inner-child, the young girl that lives inside me. It is a process that I think few of us do, but it is comforting: to listen to that purity and let it act naturally. This role made me heal many unknown wounds and made me, at the same time, grow. Besides, playing a real person is an additional challenge that every actor must go through. I think it is the most plausible interpretation one can get to do.
Can you tell us about another project you are looking forward to?
Aside from the two series I mentioned, The High Club and El Legado, as well as Máxima, I’m looking forward to the release of a Disney film I worked on. Mientras cupido no está (While Cupid’s Away).
You are both an actress and an influencer. How do you combine the two worlds?
By not stopping ever, if I’m honest. It’s not easy, but we came here to succeed baby: if you want to, you can. For example, this week was crazy. I went to Barcelona to rehearse one of the projects, then back to Madrid to pack my suitcase and fly to Paris for 4 days to shoot a music video. When I came back, I took the styles for Coachella and flew to Los Angeles. The return was to Barcelona to shoot another project. I literally died, hahaha.
What do social networks mean to you?
I see them as work, a way of sharing and often as a source of inspiration. But you have to know how to use them and not let them use you. It is important to recognize where reality ends in each piece content we consume. If we manage to do so, they are wonderful. Social networks provide us with many communicative facilities. For me, they are like a diary where I tell people things, you know? My clothes, my ideas, my projects… social media can become a very nice tool that helps us connect to one-another.

What inspires you the most?
Cinema, without any doubt, is my source of inspiration in everything. In what I listen to – I love listening to soundtracks – in how I dress…. For example, I just watched a series called The Idol on HBO. I loved it so much that I’ve been playing the music to walk down the street and I try to dress like the characters in the show. A certain piece of cinema always becomes my weekly inspiration until the feeling wears off.
If you hadn’t chosen to be an actress, what job would you have had?
I would have been a veterinarian. I actually tried by doing an internship in a dog kennel, but I can’t handle the blood, I faint. I can’t handle animal suffering either. I do not synthesize it, I internaliz it all, therefore, it would be a bit masochistic to dedicate myself to that. I try to help from other aspects: by being vegetarian, not buying beauty products that test on animals, or clothes made from animals.

What are you most proud of?
I would say I’m most proud of the I’ve road traveled so far. I was not born with anyone, neither family nor friends, working in the industry. I’ve been building everything myself little by little. I wasn’t born the best actress either, quite the contrary. But in school I stood out for the desire and the hours I put in, although there were more talented students. My secret is obsession and constant work. If others practice 2 hours, I practice 4 hours, and so on with everything.
